My Neighbors The Yamadas (ホーホケキョとなりの山田くん) is a Japanese animated comedy film directed and written by Isao Takahata and animated by Studio Ghibli. It is based on the yonkama manga Nono-chan by Hisaichi Ishii. The film was originally released in Japan on July 17, 1999. An English version of this film was released in North America on DVD by Walt Disney Home Entertainment on August 16, 2005.
