Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, known in Japan as Cowboy Bebop The Movie: Knockin' on Heaven's Door (劇場版 カウボーイビバップ 天国の扉) is a Japanese animated film directed by Shinichirō Watanabe. The screenplay was written by Keiko Nobumoto. The film was produced by studios Sunrise. The film was released to theaters in Japan on September 1, 2001 and in the United States on August 11, 2002.
