Black Butler (黒執事) is an anime television series based on the Black Butler manga written and illustrated by Yana Toboso. The series was directed by Toshiya Shinohara and produced by A-1 Pictures. It originally aired in Japan between October 2, 2008 and March 26, 2009, consisting of 25 episodes. The series was released in North America on DVD by FUNimation Entertainment between January 11, 2011 and March 8, 2011.
